Promise fulfilled

A kingdom promised

A kingdom promised

Promise fulfilled

“When your days are fulfilled to walk with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, one of your own sons, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for me, and I will establish his throne forever. I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son. I will not take my steadfast love from him, as I took it from him who was before you, but I will confirm him in my house and in my kingdom forever, and his throne shall be established forever.” 1 Chron. 17:11-14

A promise was given, a promise was fulfilled. God did raise up Solomon after David to build a physical house for him, the first temple in Jerusalem. That kingdom and lineage did endure to the coming of Jesus  the Christ. Jesus was indeed God in the flesh (John 1:14; Col. 2:9). He addressed God as Father and was condemned for claiming that relationship, but God had given a promise and He kept it.

A forever promise

His kingdom will stand forever. The kingdom of God that Jesus preached was coming. The church that Jesus said He would build (Mt. 16:18). God made a promise and He kept it through His Son. His throne shall stand forever.

The question is, have you submitted to the Lordship of this King of Kings and become a part of His sovereign kingdom? Obedience is a necessity where a king is involved. A promise is made, a promise is kept, but it requires obedience to receive the promised reward (Matt. 7:21)

God bless and have a great day!!
