Bible study, Christian living, Priorities

First things first

MeGood Morning!

As I begin this new venture in my life, blogging, let me try to get things in the right order. Priorities. As we travel this road together, the first thing I want to emphasize is that God’s Word is the most important thing in the world. I know that God is in all and over all and in us all, but the Word is what tells us about Him. For this reason, I have spent a great deal of my life looking at, researching, teaching an preaching the Word of God. That’s first.

Shortly behind that is our commitment to following that word. As we go about our lives, family (for me this includes the church), work, school, leisure, the guide and rule has to be God’s word. In order to make this a reality, we need to give time and effort into spending time with the Bible every day. Now, I have not always done this and may not always do it as well as I should, but, it is a necessity if it is to be our guide. Read God’s Word every day.

Let God’s Word permeate your thoughts and it will influence your actions. In other words, live it! In thought, in speech and in action let God’s Word be seen in you and me. If we are to influence the world around us and that is actually the third aspect of what I am trying to say today, then we must practice what we preach.

The last thing is that this message is so important that we must share it with others. All the problems we see around us, violence, sensuality, lack of modesty, murder, disobedience, selfishness of every kind, are present because we fail to heed the instruction of God. Please… care enough to share. It’s the only way our world will change for the better.

Thanks for giving me a bit of your attention today.
