Good Morning! Let there be light!
A friend started this song in my head this morning, “Ain’t no sunshine when you’re gone…”
It got me started thinking about these passages.
“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’” John 8:12
And…
“This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.” 1 John 1:5-7
Jesus is the light. John the Apostle uses this metaphor often in his gospel and in his letters. The contrast between light and darkness is a dramatic one and it has been used often through the years. We use to talk about knowledge as well as our emotional state. John tells us it also applies to our spiritual condition.
If the sunshine is gone in your life, then get back in the light!
God bless!!
