“But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” Mk. 4:38-41
I woke to a thunderstorm this morning, but not to worry, Jesus commands the storms! I have always loved storms. I do not know why, but they demonstrate for me the power of God that is beyond the control and comprehension of man. Oh, I know that we understand the interaction of wind, temperature, moisture and all the forces that make up a thunderstorm. We can tell you a lot about it, but we still cannot control it!
Our God controls not just a local phenomenon, but has arranged the atmosphere over the whole of the earth. He understands how it all works together and how the patterns fulfill his purpose.
If we follow Him, obey His instructions and remain faithful, He has promised eternal reward. Do you trust Him, even when the storm blows?
God bless and have a great day!
