Idols!!

idols

Good Morning!

“Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.” “What do I imply then? That food offered to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be participants with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons, you cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons.” 1 Cor. 10:14, 19-21

I am thinking today about a friend who faces idolatry around him daily. It must be hard to live in a place where no one questions the presence of idols and everyone sings and prays to idols.

But I am also reminded that we as Christians can find ourselves “offering sacrifice” to demons when we let ANYTHING come before God. There are so many things that demand our attention and have the potential for becoming idols in our lives

Money and the love of it or concentration on it to the exclusion of all else, work and its many demanding priorities, all kinds of entertainment that we think we need for diversion and just to be able to talk to those around us and pleasure of all sorts from physical to emotional to mental are all used by the devil to distract. Let’s be careful not to let these things come between us and our God.

“You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve!” Matt. 4:10

God bless!! And stay away from idols!!!
