Priority set. Living it. Now to SHARE!

I know I am just starting this adventure of blogging,  but so far, so good. First things always come first. God and His will. Second thing was living it out in my life. Now we come to the third part of my first foray into writing a blog, sharing what we know and live. Sharing what we know should be a pretty natural thing. When we are growing up we learn to share what happens in our lives. Mom and Dad ask, “What did you do in school today?” then we tell them. Grandparents ask their grandchildren, “What have you been up to?” then we tell them. So, what happens as we get older? What pressures or experiences tone us down in the sharing department? At some point we realize that the world is not all about us and maybe we don’t need to share everything. That’s ok, sounds reasonable to me that we would gain some wisdom as we grow older. However, there is one thing we should always be ready, willing and even eager to share. The good news about Jesus! What keeps us from it? Lack of excitement? Too many negative responses? Lack of opportunity? It may be different for each of us, but rest assured, our opponent is happy when we keep quiet. Now, here is what I am thinking. I like to teach. There are a few different audiences we have in life that deserve our attention. First, we know that most of us teach by our actions. Hopefully, we understand that how we live really does indicate to others what we believe. Second, we teach our own families. They are closest to us and therefore we interact with them the most. I have discovered another group, as a professional teacher (minister/preacher), that I teach and that is basically those who already agree with most of what I teach and that is the church. The last group, and probably the most important, are those we come in contact with who do not understand the gospel and need to hear it. Although it takes a lot more effort to teach these folks. They are the ones who most need to hear it. “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?” Romans 10:14 Let’s make it our aim, not only to know God’s will, to live it in our lives, but also to share it with those who have never heard it!
